These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the MensaPlus mobile application and the mensaplus.com website. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these terms.

2. Scope of the Service
MensaPlus aggregates publicly available menu information from German Studentenwerke and displays it in a mobile-friendly form. The app is offered free of charge and is intended for personal, non-commercial use by university students and staff.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use MensaPlus only for its intended purpose and not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our backend's API keys or endpoints for use in other applications.
- Send automated queries that exceed reasonable use (e.g. scraping our API for republication).
- Attempt to disrupt or impair the service or the underlying infrastructure.
- Use the service in violation of applicable law.
4. No Warranty on Menu Data
MensaPlus relies on third-party data sources (the websites and APIs of German Studentenwerke). We refresh menu data on a schedule, but the underlying source may be inaccurate, incomplete, or changed on short notice by the respective Studentenwerk.
We provide the data "as is" and make no warranty that a meal shown in the app will be available at the canteen, or that the price, allergen labels, or opening hours are correct. Always verify critical information (in particular allergens and dietary flags) at the canteen itself.
5. Service Availability
MensaPlus is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.
6. Advertising
The app displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Advertising helps us fund the free service. Consent for personalized advertising is collected on first launch. You can revoke consent in the app settings, which will result in non-personalized ads still being shown.
7. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Play Services, and (for the WeChat Mini Program version) Tencent WeChat. Your use of the app is also subject to those providers' own terms and policies where applicable.
8. Intellectual Property
The name "MensaPlus", the app logo, and the app source code are the property of Xiaoyu Yin. Menu content, canteen names, and Studentenwerk logos remain the property of the respective Studentenwerk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to loss of time or money due to inaccurate menu information.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, for personal injury, or under mandatory statutory consumer protection provisions.
10. Termination
You may stop using MensaPlus and uninstall the app at any time. We may terminate or restrict your access to the service if you violate these terms or engage in abusive use.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version, together with its last-updated date, is always available at mensaplus.com/terms. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
For users habitually resident in Germany or another EU member state, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence apply in addition to these terms. Otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding its conflict-of-law rules).
